During the hottest time of the day, we were taken to a lovely secluded spot where Faiz cooked us a delicious traditional Bedouin lunch from scratch, and in the evening he found us a lovely spot for watching the sunset followed by a cup of tea made over a fire. He spoke perfect English, offered us invaluable insights into the history of the area and the Bedouin lifestyle and culture, and was also a very considerate driver always avoiding dust from other vehicles, driving gently to ensure his passengers were safe and comfortable, taking us to easier access points for sites and even rearranging our route to avoid crowds. Our driver and guide Faiz was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make our experience as nice as possible. In terms of our additional activities, I am really glad that we opted for a full-day jeep tour rather than a shorter excursion because the Wadi Rum is truly vast, and committing to a full day in the desert allowed us to visit more sites with less rush while truly savoring the whole experience. Importantly, all the staff members at the camp were exceptionally kind and hospitable and ensured all guests were very well taken care of. Breakfast was once again served in the communal tent and consisted of a generous spread of both hot and cold traditional dishes, fruit, and of course unlimited tea and coffee. Dinner was followed by tea by the fire and some Bedouin music performances. Our delicious dinner consisted of a traditional Bedouin zarb as well as a large spread of typical Jordanian mezes and was served in a beautifully decorated communal tent. Their camp was absolutely gorgeous and offered all the necessary amenities including power sockets and lights in our cabin as well as perfectly clean bathroom facilities with a good number of toilets, sinks, and showers with hot water. From their office, we were driven to their beautiful camp in a 4x4 (all their cars have sunroofs). We came with a car and were given coordinates to their Wadi Rum village office where we could park in their secure fully fenced-in plot with CCTV. We spent one night at the Wadi Rum Adventures camp and went on a full-day jeep tour and a sunrise camel ride and we loved every minute of our time in Wadi Rum! After booking our stay, the communication by Mhareb and his team ahead of our arrival was very efficient and included detailed descriptions of all the additional activities they offered and their pricing (jeep tours, hiking, camel rides) as well as clear instructions for arrival in Wadi Rum village. Cannot recommend this experience enough!… We had booked a shared bathroom, which was clean and the facilities good. It of course gets hot once the sun rises but that was not an issue as we went out for the sunrise. Our tent was very comfortable, and came with a double bed, cover and two small towels. Special thanks to Attiq who showed us around the desert and knew the best spot to watch the sunset. The Bedouins running this camp are genuinely so welcoming and nice, and care about making sure you enjoy your time. The five camels in the camp are amazing and our sunrise camel ride is highly recommended. This camp is one of the furthest away from the village and has very little light pollution, and you will also maybe see some desert wildlife (we saw some foxes). We had the 8 hour Jeep tour, sunrise camel ride and one night in the camp, with great food and the most incredible night sky. Unlike some of the other camps in the area, the host and guides of Wadi Rum Desert Adventures are Bedouins who have been in the desert for generations and know it like their own pocket. This is the most authentic and amazing experience of the Wadi Rum desert.
